How uncanny, i did exactly the same thing too, on a standard engine with cams and throttle bodies lol
If i ever add cams again i will use 1 piece valves
A 172 with some light mods ran 171bhp, and a 182 trophy ran 175bhp for comparison.
I wont argue that it seems an optimistic result, but i ran the car the same as everyone else did.
Bought my cup a while back and put it on the rollers yesterday at Surrey RR with a few others, was pretty shocked at the result considering it only has a panel filter and Ktec exhaust. Standard map and cat convertor too, and its an aircon model! THis is nothing more than a happy thread :D
Check the climate control interior sensor is plugged in. Pull the panel off the roof lining where the courtesy and map reading light is. There should be a torpedo shaped black sensor in there that should be plugged in, without this plugged in you cant change temperature. People sometimes...
You are reffering to the inlet camshaft seal, and yes it would be wise to change both cam seals while the belts and pulleys are apart. Use genuine parts only though.
I got my 1144's to fade on the road, definately not reccomended. They have a super sharp initial bite too (quite annoying when your half asleep on your way to work)
I was pretty new to wax's bought some Meguiars #26 Yellow tech paste wax, highly impressed with the finish and still beads lovely after waxing it 4 weeks ago, not bad for £12.
I actually feel a bit sorry for you after reading all this, JMS should be embaressed to sell that! especially with a £1.5k + price tag. I got throughly ripped for stating exactly what your graphs above show (in another thread).
The best possible thing you can do is revert back to standard...
Got warned about 3 - 4 times when i went haha (ITB's), they say they are strict, but they just tell you not to boot it past the microphones each time and you'll befine.
Lol i remember being in the same situation a while back trying to get the ehxuast pulley off. Used an old cam belt in the end but it was CRIMINALLY tight lol!
You will hear the engine get extremely rattly in a matter of about 2 - 3 seconds. Damage is being done at this point.
Ive done it 3 times on F7/F4 engines and luckily although the light came on i managed to kill the engine pretty sharpish, the faults remedied and refilled with oil and there was...
Check for anything choking the intake or exhaust supply, i know it sounds stupid but i think i remember reading a similar story and some bloke found an old rag inside his airbox compeltely restricting air intake and makeing the car slow as hell. Then check for collapsed catalaytic convertor. I...
There is no stud to torque, the stud is factory fitted to the exhaust camshaft, you never touch that. Just torque the nut on the exhaust cam, and bolt on the inlet cam.
