Yes it ran fine on the standard ECU, BUT, I want to know it's running OK on either ECU via proper means with a wideband & knock sensors etc now, as I'd rather not pop the engine. Hence not wanting to use it in anger, it'll only cost me more.
I aimed to buy something I could just get on and...
TBF to him he's been sound, sent me a hub up when I found the snapped wheel stud and says he'll send other small bits if needed.
Scoot, people in the UK are just as bad for not replacing stereo gear.
Problem is I can't be throwing money at it like I did the Nissan, if I want my own place by the end of the year something has to give!
Yeah I believe so, he's brought a lot of them in. Usually breaks them for spares. Could have saved me a lot of stress on top of the Nissan if he'd broke this...
Mechanically, underneath and inside I have no reason to doubt the mileage.
What I do think however is this, based on my Morse like detective skills. The car had a "race crew" sticker on it, you could see the residue when you washed the car. It had the speed limiter cable cut in Japan. The...
The more I find the more I think I've been screwed TBH.
Regarding the PFC, I'll just take it to WGT when I get the chance and say sort it. Can't be arsed pissing about myself.
Saying that, somebody who actually enjoys polishing a car might do a better job. My halfarsed approach to polishing is far from ideal, I just slapped something of a medium-ish cut on and had a look see.
Yeah I have the standard ECU, but with no actual knowledge of what has and hasn't been done to it in Japan I daren't do more than pootle around in it if you know what I mean. I had a poke around the bay and there's some red ignition leads, and a braided line which I think is for the oil metering...
Erm, pass. Problem I have ATM is decent time to work on the car is scarce, that's not going to get any better with work and I'm doing 6 months of practically living there.
It's a nice ornament though.
Smallish update, it's now road legal :D
Only problem is, it's not drivable for another reason now. I had fitted an Apexi Power FC, which had been mapped for a single turbo. I wiped the data off it, had some idling problems which I resolved, and took it for a spin. It started flashing the...
Your MG was possibly the worst I've ever heard of. Was clearly made by the tea b**ch on a Friday afternoon. You don't have much luck either, look at the Cayman!
Regardless, the build quality is akin. Particularly of the earlier mk2 clios.
That's what I've done, put sticky pads on the holder and opened the clips up a bit to let it sit flatter to the bracket rather than bolt upright like it did.
