I've seen the pics coming from the D40's with the kit lens and they look a lot sharper than anything I've taken with the Canon kit lens on my 350D. When I bought mine it was between the 350D and the D50. I chose the Canon. Which ever way you go you'll get a very good piece of kit...

Steering feel is gay in the 197. It wasn't exactly overly communicative in the mk2 Clios mind, but definitely worse in the Mk3's. Although that's something I guess you'll get used over time.

If you read that test there's a lot of 'could do' and 'might do'. Not hard facts. The bottome line is, if you need a 1m HDMi you could spend £5 or £50 and I bet you a pound to a piece of s**t you won't be able to tell the difference.

It's transmitting a digital signal. 1's and 0's. Put simply, as long as the signal can get from the source to the the output, the quality is not affected. Would you buy a £50 USB cable?

Depends if you have 2k to spare. I'm not a good photographer, but I do enjoy taking pictures, and if I had the cash wouldn't hesistate spending 2k on equipment lol I wouldn't go all out on a body.... I'd like a few more lenses in my collection tbh.
