My dads cleaned the throttle housing out and refitted but still not working all it must be down to now is the potentiometer i hope any one else have any more ideas?
Checked the sensor on the pedal thats all in there ok but the electrical fault light is on the dash the square with diagonal lines in would this mean its the potentiometer? is the the black box the sensor plugs into would this make the car not start or run properly?
Had my car put on diagnostic today and these results came back:
Brake pedal Switch
Motorised throttle potentiometer
High speed electrical fan
Throttle position sensor
Anyone have a clue what this could be mechanic thinks it could be the part where the air filter elbow joins to which...

Mines doin this now i can drive the car by revvin it as soon as the foot is of the throttle is cuts out the lil sqaure with diagonal lines light come son now and again and the toxic fume warning light is on all the time now any ideas????
Not as good as my price then payed £130 for the kit then my local garage who as my dad being a mechanic knew him well and said he is good done the job for £60 i only had him do it as he done my ex girlfriends brothers 172 cambelt and he had no problems and iv had mine done for almost a year now...
If i had the money and was bothered about how the ride was and was taking it on track loads i would but im running apex springs on my cup and loads people say bad things bout them and i love them dont care bout how harsh the ride is better over standard so gaz would be just fine for me they have...
I would if i had £800 to spare but these are in a group buy and have all had good reviews on them and i dont want anything for track or that just better handling that standard and slammed and the Gaz ghah or wat ever they are sound good for the price
Just yozza decat yozza cat back system itg panel filter remap GAZ coilovers the adjustable ones some turinis and front and rear strut braces is what i was planning on doing
Iv heard putting a itg panel filter on a bigger caf to the standard box decat and cat back system them remap you will se some difference and feel it alot more better
Yea i understand ya just wouldnt mind all the little extras now and if i did change to a 172 i would coilover it and put turinis on it and my exhaust and decat so would be that bad just need to get it remapped
Yea i love my cup cuz of the colour but i just fancied a change and iv always fancied the leather xenons etc just dont like the wheels so would have to be sat on turinis then slammed
Cuz at the time i didnt know much about sports as had only just turned 19 and didnt know until a few weeks later that the Cup was a lighter version of the sport. Is there not a 172 FF ok then a 172 with the xenons and leather?
Iv had this problem 2 so when they find out the error code do they know what needs to be changed on the car as today when my car done it. It would rev alot on its own but now seems to be fine but want it sorted as will be selling up soon.
