what do you do about the black bars on films via vga? just live with them? nice being able to lose them on component! normal dvd's look loads better quality picture with VGA but i think the colours arent as good tried playing with brightness contrast and backlight settings

thats good to know. its 2.4:1 on this one think im going to have o keep flicking between vga and component. as the xbox normal dvd drive only upscales via VGA?? but with VGA it has no screen size options, also you noticed the colours arent as good as component?

ah never really noticed them before.. but with the VGA input cant adjust the screen sizing.. so ive gone back to component.

erm.. why are there black bars above and below the picture?? do i have to put it into one of the 'cinema' screen sizes?

well i downloaded a 1080p clip off windows media download site for a terminator 2 trailer and it streamed fine but was only small on my screen?? could do with some full sized vid clips of some high detail action to see what HD is like..

well the disc had soem very slight marks of residue on it, wiped it perfectly clean and it seems to have been ok.

2 weeks without a console sucks at the mo tho ;) see how it goes anyway..

i bought from play last week.. that thing blew up after 10 mins, so bought one from a highstreet store instead and swapped it for my dodgy one from play and took it back.. now this one keeps saying the disc needs fricking cleaning.. :(

i think im bloody cursed on PGR3 everytime i go to watch gotham TV, or its started now doing it when loading xbox live games up.. keeps coming up with the ''clean disc or reset console'' the disc is clean, its only a couple of days old!! argh why arent 360's as reliable as the...

i got a good bundle from play.com for 270.. but play.com service is shite.. id rather pay the extra few quid and get it from the high street..
