i paid £7500 for a ph1 172 y reg 2001 last october,only 17,500 miles on the clock,wanted a ph2 cup or 172 but the ones i looked at this money were sheds, both nice motors but ph 1 better imo and not many about probably the reason for holding their money and will in the future.

they are all nice motors matey keep the ph1, the original and best imo,the v6 is a stonking motor awwwsssomme in both versions.

is the 172 ph1 aux belt tensioner self adjusting or manual:confused:

between 34-35 mpg normal driving to and from work.

wife drives the 172 and i drive a 1.7d astra merit thru the week absolute sh*te the astra, but i make up for it in the 172 at the week end:D

seems okay with me maybe a little slow.

i think its the aux belt tightener,is it at the side of the alternator edde,like i say its worse on full lock so it might need tightening,cabbagekitten the squeak is defo on the pulley side mate and entjm i know what your saying mate but it is very fine chain spray more like water and it went...
