Sounds like box oil, very pungent smell - if you were an expert on cat p1ss like myself you would know ;)
Bring it over tmrw evening if you want, we can stick it on the ramp and have a proper look :)
I received your email Ben, going to fire you over a reply later;
Couple of things;
Have you had the engine cover off and had a good look around the back of the rocker cover?
Does the oil smell of cat p!ss?
:eek:

I agree with you. I'm no mapping engineer, you rely on experts for the information on how this works/how its done - in this case there are a few of them floating around in here - listen to them, don't just dismiss them and we can all learn in a top discussion - something...
Mike your winding them up that's why!! No need to talk race cars, rally car, bloody flying cars - on the road you fit parts - map the car according too all the requirements- done, sure you can tinker with the map profile but that's just down to preference - as Craig & Dan are saying on a ground...
What Dan is trying to say Mike is that mapping is inherently complex and all about attention to detail, its either done correctly to make the most of the work done or not done correctly.
Sure you develop a variety of maps for an application, but only one will be the one you end up using, the...
As Danny says ITG filters cause a 10ish% drop on absolute manifold pressure over the Pipercross alternative (k-tec are also made by piper IIRC), however the performance gains are minimal.
Don't rule out the ability of a well designed filter, especially when coupled with a baffle free airbox...
Well this is a very civil debate ladies ;)
^ Couldn't have put it better myself, however I do believe that a small amount of £age spent can draw the best from the cars, then taking it to the track and coupling it with some tuition is the best of both worlds.
RenaultSport track days are...
DMS I see what your saying and to an extent I understand, but by saying you will be £400.00 better off is probably going a bit to far lol
The issue is that 95% of the people who own the RS Clios in our community / target market that are looking to carry out Performance work on their cars are...
I have to agree with you fred, they are a total waste of time in my opinion; yes they lower inlet temps (by about 10-15 degress) but the air moves through the chambers of the inlet at supersonic speeds so the heat 'soak' effect is minimal, if at all.
I disagree with this, in my opinion spending £400.00 on a remap, inlets, decat and a proper filter setup can comfortably give you 180.00bhp. This DOES make a difference to the car and is very economic power for the money.
The other benefits are that the car is still near standard meaning it...
Aux belt. Did you have the tensioner replaced, or just the belt?
If just the belt I'd put money on the tensioner being seized and not doing its job properly.
Tensioner does the tightening if a non cup - manual tightening if it was a cup.
Yes it does give a gain - I will be publishing simple before and after graphs in our traders section next week.
We work with Henk @ fastchip for all our mapping needs and use a master version of the same RStuner gear that is sold to the public, very very happy with the results and the feedback...
