my mate had this problem it was dan's LY. it was no way this bad but had ripped. he bought recaro seat covers made for the seat and they prolonged the life a bit better but in the end he had them replaced under warantee

take the clocks out and put a small black piece of paper inbetween the led thingy and the airbag stencil thing on the dial front. i wouldnt do this as you never know if the other bags are faulty or not. best of luck with the repairs :)
