White 200 on A264 heading north. Albi 200 just up the road heading same way. Albi 197 parked at jaguar in Crawley. I see this a lot near Findon. BG182 parked in car park behind. I wonder who's that could be??!! Looked smart from a distance and clean too.

Yeah. Really odd smell to describe. Not a burning smell. Not a oily smell. Just a "heat" smell. So the thought is the smell could be normal... Fingers crossed it is. Thanks for feedback.

Just tried it again now and it all appears to be normal. Standard rough sounding idle due to solid mounts but steady at about 800 rpm. The smell is still there. I'm taking it back in tomorrow to look at it again. Any more ideas as to the cause?

Could it be anything to do with me cleaning the air filter?

My Ph2 172 has developed an erratic idle, not just from cold. It's done it for a total of about 40 minutes and still there when I turned off. It has revved all the way up to 3000 revs at points and keeps the revs up when changing gear also. There is also a smell that can be smelt at he engine...

Had Cambelt, aux belt, water pump and Dephaser done on the 172. Also engine oil, filter and pollen filter and gearbox oil replacement. Feel proper skint now but boy did it fly.

So then. Who on here has bought it? Cheap at £3200 I think.

Is that not yours under the blue 200 in the garage? Yours was the load one with a cage on F1's? If so and there's not many pictures then you need to learn to slow down. ;) Too quick for my amateur camera antics.

No. Plate wasn't on at the time. Still got the wheels in the shed waiting to get 888's for the black 172/ Roll on next year. :D

Ha ha. since you went past me I saw you plate and was trying to put 2 and 2 together. The plate obviously looks like SHAND, I remembered your name from buying the wheels but you threw me off with where you were heading. I remembered seeing your for sale post of the Ph1 and buying a Albi 197 so...

I was in Petrol Blue 182 on M25 and we both came off at Pease Pottage. I did wonder if it was you due to the plate. I bought your F1's from you and I collected in my black 172. Small world.

Exactly that. I said to my wife about it and she thought the same. Some parts I couldn't hear at all. Bad production.
