Yep,i feel the ABS test every time i start the car up and drive off,its kind of like a little knock but not a knock at the same time,lol. You can feel the brake being squeezed a little.
200BHP seems a little low for over 3k worth of conversion considering he was running around 190 BHP with cams before right?? Didn't it put out 217 on the rollers?

Evo did a good second hand guide on the 172 not too long ago,thats definately worth checking out,they list prices of repairs and things most likely that will need repairing and what mileage etc.
Sure someone else can help alot more but check out EVO for a starting place.
My light hasn't thrown up yet but reading from other people's comments,it really does vary from car to car. No big deal even if it did come up TBH.

You think you have more knowledge than me? I do over 70k a year and live in a country with the worst death rate in the world per 100,000 people. I've seen it all,i never said i know it all because i know 5 years is a short time.
Your probably better doing styling mods...its a slow car and always will be unfortunately,either save up for a cheap 172 or do some styling,no point wasting money on adding BHP to a car that won't get much quicker.
I have a decat along with standard 182 exhaust. Sounds so much better and for 80 pounds from GDI,its the cheapest by some way. It definately revs more freely too.
But why is it so expensive to tune compared to similar sized engines as in the Fiesta ST,206 GTI 180,Seat Cupra etc. They can be all chipped and gain 10-15BHP for less than 500 notes and 500 notes on a 172/182 will get you diddly squat.

A question for the technically minded CS people..
Why is the F4R engine so hard to get gains from? On say a fiesta ST an aftermarket exhaust can release close to 5/10 BHP whereas the clio will struggle for 3/4 BHP.
Is it due to being quite highly tuned already or am i talking utter...

I've had mine for close to 3 months and have to say really can't tell the difference at all. I think people get carried away with ideas of 'free revving'. Maybe i didn't fit mine right?lol
