Went on the new Midland Expressway at 7.00am last Saturday.
NO TRAFFIC, NO SPEED CAMERAS, NO ROADWORKS, PERFECT NOO TARMAC.
The toll-booth had at LEAST 12 lanes (like Dartford Tunnel), but is VERY open & flat and I was the ONLY car there!!!!!
I only saw two Black ones till I ordered mine, then What Car voted it best Supermini and Diesel Car spoilt our exclusivity by voting it Top Small Diesel!!
I reckon about 90% of us bought BLACK Dynamiques(probably cos theyre not totally colour-coded).
I pass 4 black ones every day (two of the are KROs), and Ive seen 100s - whose got em??
I bet theres enough of us for our own Club - BCC!!
I used to run these in Northants.
MUCH better than points - very relaxed and lots of group work such as crash scenarios and chats about what makes a good driver?.
You should get some good driving tips - the Tutors are hand-picked top tutors (many with skid school, rally school, advanced...
Check your driving style by re-setting the fuel trip at different speeds etc.
My dCi will do 99mpg at 40mph in 5th, but only 36mpg at 100!!
Also think about Advanced Driving - its dead cheap cos tutors are trained volunteers (about £50 with the Institute of Advanced Motorists, IAM), youll...
A fully stamped book with receipts is far more important than just main dealer. Keep every receipt (even wiper blades) and stick it all in a folder.
I sold a Ren 19RSi that had Main Dealer to 40K, then 2 or 3 specialists for another 45K. I sold it in 2 hours for EXACTLY what I was asking!!
Luv it!
72mpg (as in 750 miles on a tankfull) and enough in-gear oooomph to surprise a standard New Shape Mini Cooper - did it this morning after he overtook me and then I zipped by between roundabouts!
APART from the bloody creaking sunroof - a definite DELETE option if it had been...
** NO Market for old Rovers **
Soz, youd be VERY lucky to shift it for a Grand FIXED even if its MINT.
You seen an v.nice R Rover Vitesse SOLD recently at Auction for £2500!!
Careful with the 0%.
Theyll prob. insist on full list and add on all sorts of sh*t such as gap insurance and tyre cover.
I bought new 6 months ago and ended up paying £10100 (9800 + 3.4% finance costs for an 11K list car). If Id signed the first figures on paper at 3.4% Id have been stung...
Im with Renault too: 0870 128 9295
Ive got a SP30 and a claim under my belt - Reno Insurance is £350 FC protected NCB + legal + Class 1 business, BUT Its no 172.
They want £60 extra for next weeks 17s and lowered springs.
Defo try em - cheapest by a long way!
The 172 is better than most cost its light - our old VTR did barely 30mpg.
my mate used to have a T5 as a company car when they first came out - he used to love showing off by getting the fuel trip into single figures!!
Yep!!
I wanted a 172, but do up to 700 miles a week - I worked out the fuel at £1300 a year in a dCi, about £2500 in a 172!
Plus Group 3 insurance with a speeding conviction and claim is only £350 FC with Class 1 Business!!
It might do MORE mpg when I get it Superchipped!
40mm is a good compromise (Im having 40mm APEX fitted next week) - it should then sit about the same height as a standard 172.
P.S: I upgraded from 14" to 15" on a Ren 19 - the overall circumference (and performance) didnt change - basically same diameter cos there was less thickness of...
Boring place at 10.30pm, so.... kept resetting the Trip Computer... Did you know?
at a steady 40mph in top a DCi 80 does 99.9mpg?
@ 50 = 85mpg, 60 = 73mpg, 70 = 66mpg
Then I got bored. @ 110 it does 34mpg!!
I surprised a VTR that had passed me 10 minutes earlier when I was doing 40...
Im getting my Apex Springs next week. Where can I get them fitted cheap (ish)?
(ideally within 50 miles of Aylesbury - e.g. Bucks, Oxon, Beds, Berks, Herts, Warks, North West London, MK or Northants)
I bought my car (not a V6) from my local dealer, but not until I trawled the internet and bounced five dealers off each other (Ill pay a deposit today if you can beat .. Dealer by £100) to almost match the best supermarket/import price for a UK car.
I got within £150 of what probably would...
A 172 Knob (fnarr fnarr) is part R82 00 208 088 and not £20.00 BUT £30.00+VAT (too modest about my new knob!)
In case you are interested, I also fitted:
RenaultSport Door Aluminium Look (plastic) Sill Kick Plates are R82 00 095 078 AND R82 00 095 068 (for left and right) and a well steep...
I think they meant Megane as well, but if you want to find the latest on any french car, search websites written in French (i.e .fr) and use the translate button (sometimes a bit gobbly gook) - most stuff is tested well before it is in the UK!
Dan Summers has one of the best colour code finishes on a car that isnt fitted with bits as standard. He had trouble with the bobbly ones so bought the smooth ones that are fitted to a 172 - his cars on the site under gallery (other clios)
The leather knob was over £20 and a bas***d to fit - had to hacksaw old one off!
To get one over counter you have to give a Reg. or chassis no. so I use the chassis no. of the 172 in the showroom when order upgrades for my dynamique.
