I find the less that you leave building up the easier it seems, as Rich says isn't usually that bad with the protection of wax and sealant on the paint. The worse for me is the bumper as I don't have the luxury of paintwork that the sports have.
With the discounts that you can get online and the quality of the products I can't remember when I went to somewhere like Halfords to get anything. Get most of my stuff from CarWashnWax now.

Sonax is what Rich uses, personally I'm with Alan on this one but I've not tried the Sonax yet.

The PC mimics the movement of the hand when polishing but does it much quicker than you could ever do by hand meaning you getting a much better result.
