Attended the Clio200.net How Fast? event on Saturday. A wee blurb copy and pasted over from there:
Little update/blog post How Fast?
The little green one performed flawlessly the 370 miles down to Bedford, the 370 miles back from Bedford and the hammering she received at Bedford. Managed to...
I go through phases of liking/wanting a Sprint spoiler but if I was to fit it and then grow to dislike it (Like I did with the old Cup spoiler) and have to get the tailgate repaired again the wife would linch me lol.
Gearboxes are the weak link. I've had ours replaced on our 200 (Which has the same box as the majority of 197s).
Though folk have had gearboxes replaced on their Clios that have never seen a track. Everything else is up to the task really.
Spent Saturday lowering and washing the green one. Absolutely beautiful day so naturally I'm now sunburnt lol.
Anyway. Now the rears are as low as they'll go. The fronts were lowered to "suit". Really love the look of it and she still manages not to scrape on speedbumps. Geometry is being setup...
I still don't know which colour I'd go for. LY or black for sure though.
I want one, however cant justify selling the 200 Cup after only 3 years of ownership from new. Will wait 1.5->2.5 years before I buy an EDC. Maybe by then some of the "short comings" will be ironed out by then.
The weights earlier on in this thread are wrong. The 200T is 1,204kg as confirmed by Renault which is the same as the outgoing 200 Cup.
Somebody's added an extra 90Kgs somewhere whether it be Evo mag or who ever posted the figures up here.
The 197 cup wasnt available when the MK3 RS' were released though. The Cups and cup option only became available after the R27s were released. Those we released a full year after the first 197s.
People said that it'd be the most common colour for the normal Clio 4 but to date the only Clio 4 I've seen in red is ours. Every other one is white, black or silver.
That would be superb if you could stick them up.
I left after the red flag for the ST crash as I thought it would be a while tidying up the mess, and I needed petrol.
You didnt miss much tbh. People kept slowing and moving over in places where they shouldn't have been ie. in the corners and not the straights therefore queues of cars massing behind them. Then you had the folk that just wouldnt get out of the way. To pass on the straights with the Clio you need...
Another little update.
A couple of weeks ago I bought a spare Akrapovic centre section (With silencer) with the intention of getting rid of the silencer and sticking it on the car. Had it fitted a week past on Friday but its coming off on Thursday. Is just too loud for day to day driving which...
