Tbh I'm a noob too. Bit your going to need a car up to msa spec, then all the safety wear, race license etc. Not cheap to do.
Race entry, tyres etc all adds up!
I don't think you will tbh, they all seem to be white for custom paint jobs
Engine wise its standard apart from a panel filter, PMS exhaust and the cup alt set up.
Its running cup subframe, cup wishbones, KW V2s, camber bolts.
Getting new wishbones, tie rods and end this winter, new nylon rack bushes and more lightening!
I'll be avoiding the hot hatch days, driving is terrible and the track time is terrible! I may do a couple (PFC day etc) but I'll mainly be sticking to open pit days/nights.
I think my first one will be the 8th march, 4 hour open pit!!
I'm sure most people know my car at knockhill was there a...
I said feet mounts aka platforms ;)
Tbh I'm not sure, I'm not stupid, I know the effectiveness of the cage is down to how well it's installed. I'll have a look into it but can't say I've ever seen anything about the mounts having to be welded in. Worst case I'll get a test piece done and...
Yes mate it is, hence why I'm getting it, spending a little more to save a lot of time and hassle! The group buy I think is closed, but if your quick go and find it and speak to Dan who was doing it, I know someone else added in to it yesterday
Thanks, it started as a cheap track toy, but i've got pretty serious and don't mind spending the cash if i know i'm getting my monies worth.
I would like to get the car in a position ready to race one day.
KH day, on their website.
I've changed to the safety devices group buy so its a bolt in, i think ill get it fitted and the feet tacked in place, then get the guys in the unit next to us to weld them in for me.
Well got a start on her last night,
Up on stands, wheels off, seats out and the half cage removed.
Pretty happy with how the KWs look after a year of use, i did clean them regularly and they did not see a lot of road use
The paint is looking a little worse for wear after a few trips...
Im aiming for the 8th of March, Its the first open pit, and also my birthday haha!
I managed 12 last year, so we will see if i can better than, think i may struggle as i've moved out now so cash is a little tighter!
I'm up near the balgeddie house hotel.
It's not track only, it will be back on the road probably around April, but it's up my unit the now for more goodies!
Handy to know I'll be needing an MOT soon
Well no pics yet! Will get some tonight but she is now up to the unit and started strip her down for new goodies!
Put my deposit down on the safety devices 6point group buy. Hopefully have that around Feb.
List of new part to be fitted in the next few months
Full cage
Door cards
Polycarbs to...
Nice to see another Clio up at knockhill.
Keep its cheap, a new set if cup shocks and eibachs/cook sport springs will set you back £300, decent discs, pads and fluid will sort you out on the brakes, other than that just go and use it, upgrade as you feel it needs it, not what the forum says...
You should be able to see, look for the black rod coming from the underside of the gearbox along the exhaust tunnel. If it's been knocked/moved I would expect to see some marks on it, or where it joint to the selector in the box might show movement.
Has anything been done to this recently...
