I have that tripod ^ It is fantastic :D but not had to use the horizontal function yet so I can't comment. Try it anyway and hold the tripod down, shoot with the remote :)

I have some "half decent" shots of a Robin in a forest Dad goes for a walk every day to help his back pain and feeds the birds, I follow along with the camera sometimes for snaps :) But I do lug the "tripod" with me too lol :p
