    Suspension compromise

Eibach Prolines. 100% I don't like Cooksports, but prolines are ideal for road use IMO

    172 rear seat covers

Just get a second rear bench, and replace it should you need to IMO. They're ten a penny, and very quick to swap. I have a few in the shed i think, all needing a good clean up, but free to collect from Chertsey if you want them.. What is it you're trying to protect the seats from matey?

    New clutch time?

If you can change brakes, you can change a clutch. As said, it's wise to have someone who's done one before on hand (even if via Facetime etc) to check a few things with.

New to forum... what size alloys are you running on your 182/172

Sorry, 1*2 i refer to is either 172 or 182. So the sports.

New to forum... what size alloys are you running on your 182/172

Massively. Two best things you can do to a 1*2 for me is reduce the wheel size, both road wheels and steering wheel.

    New clutch time?

If it's on the real early stages of rattling - just nurse it and be gentle and you'll get loads of life out of it.

15" make a 1*2 infinitely better to drive, tyres are cheaper and they weigh less. Be silly not to if it's going to be a track car... Common options are OZ F1's, Speedline 2118's.

    New clutch time?

    Yep, £425 is cheap!

    Starter knackered??

Yep, while you're fitting the heatshield, might as well chuck a new starter on. Should only be £25 or so posted.

South Central Surrey Rolling Road Meet

SRR is known for being honest with their figures - because they have nothing to gain by manipulating them. Charlie said that a rough E46 makes 280bhp on his rollers, and a healthy/good one makes 320bhp, so i'm happy! Figure is irrelevant to me - it goes sideways when i want it to, so it's...

Opinion from guys who tracked an owned 182 AND 197

1*2, every time. Mainly for parts/ upgrade availability, ease of working on them. Price of spares and tyres, fuel economy etc. oh, and the gearbox won't fall apart in 30 seconds if you're not ham fisted and rush it. Be mental to go for a later one when the 1*2 is so good as a track car,

Anyone get any pics of the front plateless M3 on the rollers? My camera is dogshit, and I was too preoccupied making sure the diff didn't fall out on the rollers. :)

So how it usually works, is get there whenever, RWD and AWD go first, as the rollers need setting up differently.. Run those, then swap to FWD, and get in a queue tbh. They all get done, doesn't take long.. Pop over and say hi mate, everyone will be friendly..

What to replace when installing a used engine?

Likewise with the sump gasket. If it's not leaking, leave it be. Easy enough to swap with the engine in place.

What to replace when installing a used engine?

Yep, if the crank seal isn't leaking, leave it as it is. New clutch, 100%.

    Clutch issue?

Yeah, i'd imagine so. I'd guess it's half possible that he's used a borescope in through either the crank sensor cutout, or in by the clutch fork, but i doubt it.

    Clutch issue?

f**k knows how he can see the pins and plate without taking the box off, which is a good few hours work.

Gearbox doesn't change what shaft is required. It's the hubs and wishbones that do iirc.
