Starter knackered??

Recently started having hot start issues with my cup. Starts every time when cold but when hot sometimes just clicks away. Starts straight away if you bump it.
Turns out there is no starter motor heat shield fitted, ordered one and it is on its way.
Do you think the starter will be damaged already with the heatsoak?? Will the heat shield make a big difference??

Yep, while you're fitting the heatshield, might as well chuck a new starter on.

Should only be £25 or so posted.
