That gear change light was a f**king b*****d when I had one on the 48 hour test drive program! It was coming on about 2.5K!!

Standard xenon bulbs that are in yours are going to be the brightest or give the most light out. They do look kind of yellowy though. I believe they are 4800K as standard.
I have 6000K ones in mine and they give a nice pure white look. But the amount of "Light" it gives out is less. I cant be...
Ahh thats what I thought...I only had a quick look as I had chopped the top of my finger off fitting my splitter :o
