They are small tail pipes that stick out through the plastic. They do look a lot better when aftermarket exhausts are in place. Are you getting a clio soon? Swear I read in the Trackday thread you were. Edit:

When you cleaned it, what did you do. Just a wash or a wash polish seal etc? I washed mine the other day and it looked no where near as nice as that. Although mine is in desperate need of a detail.

To be fair, it's not a bad attempt. Simple body kit added. Wheels look a bit small and lost but that is not the worse attempt I have seen. Still looks s**t though.
