go for it mate, will be awesome to see it done,
I can not see why people discourage performance development on clio's, and always try and knock people down, it honestly looks like jealousy
any idea how the chassis will cope through the corners due to the boost? I know i use the throttle to...
nice style wheel mate, dont think it can pull the colour/style of wheel vs the silver paint work
Still its an improvement over 17's :)
I did the white 2118's on my silver ph1 172 that 172ben now has, its probably the only time i will agree that silver and white goes, its just the rally style...
Its fully caged, running carbon kevlar seats, billstein suspension, full polybushed, 16v with de-cat back supersprint race only exhaust, lower brace, solid lower engine mount and a few bits of smoothing
Im more into driving so I wanted something that was a more 'raw' version, i had an s1...
Mine was sat on the shafts, well pretty much, it used to rub on them over every slight bump, in the end it just rubbed a hole in the plastic/chassis :)
Chassis notching is your friend but from the pics it doesnt look as low as mine so you shouldnt have any issue's mate
Yellow - i did a p.x...
Ive just sold my clio 172 and bought a 106 rallye with 16v conversion, no nonsense i.e power steering, abs, just you and your skills, handles brilliant
One thing i did notice about the clio on roundabouts was its tendancy to understeer, due to the heavier more torquey engine, I can imagine this...
very nice, although you now make me want mine back :(
Only thing I'm not too keen on is the front plate, just doesnt look right because of the bigger recess
dare i say it....yellow fogs :rasp:
quite frankly ive just let my ph1 172 go for similar money, mine went with ph2 sidestrips, ph2 rear bumpter, ph2 back lights, ph2 interior handles and with a de-cat
My car had absolutely nothing wrong with it all be it the mileage was high at nearly 98k
There are some bargains out there to be...
looks awesome mate, was good to meet you on sunday aswell, glad they cleared the calipers :)
for a moment it makes me think its my car, same with tonaz car and my o.z f1's, i need to stop selling my wheels to people with silver cars, my prima's went to a guy on here with a silver 182 :-)
Keep...
Dont tell kev he'll try it at 145 haha the longest jump in history, I will pop along in me french beastie, ne jumps for me though, as I dont fancy the repair bill/hospital time if it goes tits up
thats exactly right mate, i drive my car spirited everywhere i go, thats exactly the reason why i modify it, to build the car around me, make it my own, and for a better driving experience
I pay road tax, i'm making the most of the road's, when the traffic permits ofcourse
i'd rather do a euro trip over some famous race tracks including the 'ring' . Im sure after some good tuition, some properly set up suspension and brakes, you'll enjoy yourself driving fast around a circuit more than going fast in a straight line
Maybe think about cams as a cheaper option...
yep, gear ratio's are longer in the ph1's, it has its pro's and con's when up against the ph2 guys in a straight line race though
As for the seats.....you sit in them, not look at them, and they have 'propper' rear head rests
Dashboard...meh, it isnt bad, but not as good as the ph2, if the ph1...
IMPO start with the basics, itg replacement panel filter, exhaust, de-cat and on the Clio's match the inlets and get an rs tuner map, and get a larger air feed
You'll probably spend nomore than 700 quid and gain around 10-15bhp
If i were going to charge my car I'd want all the above done...
driving tuition is a very good point, its all well and good having a fast car, but pretty useless if you cant drive it to its full potential
Also the driving skills you pick up will be with you for life, and be a long term investment for you :)
Its your money at the end of the day though, but...
hey its natural, i love my little car, if i had the extra cash I'd probably get a cup as Im more of a driver, and would benefit from not having the abs or air con, too much weight
Both excellent cars, it all depends whether you want looks, or more cash to spend on making it your own :rasp:
the ph1's look 'ard' as nails, where as the ph2 looks like something you'd take to get false nails ;-) haha
If you want to make your own drivers car, a ph1 could be a good place to start, it all depends if you want to have a standard or modified car
Standard vs standard....cup hands down
its...
