LoL, Renault won't do a thing for free other than tell you to "book it in"
Keys are around £90 and then another £40 to code it up although Renault have recently announced a special part number for key sets which makes getting two new keys a lot cheaper. I could get two new key cards for my...
If it were one of my cars in my workshop I'd slap it on the CLIP to confirm that key '1' is un-recognised and if that was the case i'd then try re-coding it. If i'm honest though (going off previous experience and your description of the fault) I'd say you're gonna need a new key. Its been a...
[sorry, blatant spam]
I was given the opportunity to drive one of these recently after fitting a new clutch, slave and DMF for a customer and by fek they don't half dig in well in the twisties... really impressive motors these especially for the cash that they're coming for.

Then as they went to those lengths to get the keys (and if they mean business) they'll just re-enter his house and beat the living piss out of him/wife/kids until he tells them how it starts! A good friend lost his Evo VI this way and its just not worth it IMO.

Been covered a fair few times now this but... again:
If all you're seeing is "_ _ _ _" flashing on the multifunction display carry out a clockset reset.
Ignition off > Key in barrel > press and hold button on wiper stalk > Turn key to Ignition ON (But don't start the car) > Clockset will go...
Firstly - You're a very naughty boy and don't do that again!
Secondly - Remove the upper inlet plenum and the plug leads then look down the plug bores... I bet they're swimming in water! Expel the water and your misfire will disappear fo'sho

Worst part of this job... bonnet off - If the bolts snap you're fekked!
I don't know how Danny does these as some people don't bother removing the bonnet but I like having full access on these. The last one I did (Late 2011) wasn't bad until I came to the crank lock cover bolt which someone...
