yeah the orange plastic is tucked in tight mate, you will have to cut the side to get it out...thats why I didn't bother with mine....just got metal monkey to make me a clock surround for it....

is it a official Renault cable you replaced it with? the others are crap and will snap again in a matter of months.... also the routing of the cable is very important and it can snag and be very stiff...
