Hmm.... there was one of the "2 tone" Saxos down from my mates house, looked like a base model with bigger bumpers and bumpstrips. That looked sh*te, that was defo not a VTR or VTS.

Just out of curiousity, was that Jag Corse shambles from Scotland? I see it on the Strathycruise site all the time, its a total mess.
There was similar thread to this a while ago - get the R32 if you want a motorway cruiser and get the 182 if you are going to be doing more fun drive. Simple.
