Hiya Ben,
thats a possibility, but I would like to keep the car as standard as poss in other areas.
the Drive arrangement should be fine, providing the thing is true with adequate bearings and lube.
it has other advantages too, eg - Pully changes will be easier, there is also the...
also,
re fitting... the best plan so far is to replace the powersteering pump with the cup electric unit... then run a shaft from the ps pump mounting to the gearbox - air filter housing location.
this would allow the blower to be mounted where the existing airbox is.
the problem is...
ok, now paid for, awaiting delivery
decided on the Rotrex, not the Sprintex
here are measurements for the rotrex

Hi Guys, yes, I will be doing this myself - time permitting -
The blower is from a volkswagon specialist, I was ringing around trying to get a g-lader compressor when I found a guy with the Rotrex, he had it on a 20v vw unit giving about 275 @ flywheel. Unit is 3 weeks use only - he changed...

Hiya Tubs
This is MY opinion only.
the engine is designed to cope with every muppet and son of muppet in the galaxy, doing anything that they can to grenade it.
providing YOU are sensible - as I am sure you are - then there is no reason why on earth you cannot gun it.. when properly...

Hi Des,
ok, there are a few thngs you can try
its probably more technique really.
use the brakes to slow the car.. ie - dont drop a cog with excessive use of the clutch to slow down and synch the gears, also, try to avoid clutch slip at take off.
the usual culprit is the down change...

des,
you suffered cluth fade by the sound of it.. same as brake fade.. the clutch works on the same principle as the brakes.. ie, friction material against a disk.
it is possible to overheat the clutch linings and 2 events can occur..
1st is glazing of the linings.. although unlikely as...
Hi Sir,
the ecu can store information such as intermittent faults on a sensor, and also adapt on a continuous basis to the engine characteristics, such as adaptations to the ignition map positions due to a knock event etc - or, when using a lower octain fuel. the unit is contiuously...

dont get carried away guys with resetting the ecu..
you WILL NOT GAIN ANYTHING.. sorry... but...
the ecu is ADAPTIVE... ie it CONSTANTLY updates itself ....
if a knock event occurs say.. it will r****d the ignition and store the result.. but NOT forever... at a predesignated time -...
