bit of an update.
I was running the standard 6400.rst file according to my RSTuner and then the ron 98 .cal file on top of that.
Last night decided to chuck on the 6500_5404.rst and the 6500_5404.cal ron 98 file.
Seems to be running fine at the minute obviously it has to do a relearn but it...
Or carrier pigeon??!
ITs weird as I ssay because we do things for Germany and France and they run speeds of upto 50mb on copper cables.. (Well parts of germany not all!)... you live/lived out there so maybe you have a different view on it?!!
You'd be surprised.. A lot of major companies and some areas of the country do have FTHH already.
Cost wise BT have decided on FTTC for the moment as its too much hassle and money to do everyone.. ie for me I live in the country...thats'd be a nightmare for them.
Aye but its very cunning and I know people who just go and order it and expect 50mb.. thats where they should read though! lol
Yes it is far superior But France Telecom currently have copper lines all over the country.. they run 50mb fine.. this country cant do that!
Mainly coz BT have no idea...
I know its surprising how many people think that!
Its called fibre to the cabinet. BT are looking at doing that. But they make it sound like they are running the fibre all the way to your house... errr NO!
FTTC = Fibre To The Cabinet
FTTH = Fibre To The Home.
One day we might have...
I love there marketing strategy! Do you want super fast FIBRE internet rather than standard copper?? If so come to Virgin (or words to that effect)
A load of people in my street have switched over to get 50mb broadband only for me to tell them that they are still on good ol copper just...
I might be able to help you out .. Im going to do someone's MK3 soon and will see how it goes.
Not trying to take anything away from jaffa.. just trying to help people out :)
Obviously I haven't seen inside the new models dash but im sur eit could be possible by having a separate LED and blanking it off somehow so it doesn't show. Probably more hassle than its worth though as tried that with the 1*2's and it weren't worth all the hassle!
you f**king geeks! thats over 16 texts a day on average!
My Vodafone contract is unlimited everything.. so calls, texts (but a max limit off 1500 texts a month I think!) and free internet for £45.
Didnt want to clog up the iphone thread so thought id ask quickly.
Want an Iphone as im at the end of my £45 per month with Vodafone thank god.
Its saying on the O2 site its £34.26 but doesn't say if thats inc VAT? So just wanted to ask those who are on contract how much it actually costs...
