    New Member, researching 182 purchase.

No. 206gti 180's are very decent with a bit of work. Bin the 17's for 16's, get a short shifter. Very decent cars then, and nicer looking imo.

From this point on, your opinion is null. And void. On everything.

    mk5 gti edition 30

Thats the beauty of them imo. Much like a decent 3 series, very refined and boring. But when you push them, very entertaining. Can't comment on a 200, but I'd have one over a 197 every day.

R35 GTR's may soon be breaking down near you

Didn't dubai182 send his back due to persistent issues? From day 1 there seem to have been various issues. Certainly doesn't seem to have the over engineered integrity of ze Germans!

    Bedford, 26/4th

As ste said tbf. Tricky to compare though, because I imagine we're running quite different setups suspension wise. I'm currently running a bit of toe out, as I love aggressive turn in. But it does sacrifice some stability under braking. I'm going to try some toe in next time out. Could be...

    172 - Ph1 or Ph2?

Maybe. But on our shitty, poorly surfaced, often damp roads, no ABS is a nonsense. And they way hardly less than a ph1, but you get to keep AC, ABS.

    Weitec or FK coilovers

Why do you want to go that low? Iirc they can go lower, but are only tuv approved up to 30mm.

Must of been fast, as you weren't hanging about!

    172 - Ph1 or Ph2?

I've had both. I prefer the ph1, just more 'fun' to drive. TC/ESP is completely unnecessary!

    Disappointed with brakes?

How many miles will discs last with the pf97's?
  22. ForceIndia

    Clio 172 mpg/ running costs?

Most 172's at that price (ph1 or ph2) will need regular money spending imo. Suspension components, bearings, etc all crop up. Just put the £1800 towards running the Vee and use that.

Cheap Coilovers better that lowering springs?

Slightly lower than standard, adjustable damping.
