    172 topped out at 220kph

Ive had 143mph in my Cup.... It was really struggling to go any faster too. So I think thats about it. It was very dark, and cold, so lots of dense air being sucked it, and it was on a slight down hill. Maybe it will go a bit faster but not much.

    Cheek

LOL. Im 20 right with a Clio Cup and was given loads of sh*t from numerous dealers about how the car was "too powerful for me" etc. Usualy spiel. Pisses me right off. At least I was saved from a 206 GTI. They wouldnt even let me test drive it. hahhahhaha

    Clio Cup Handling

Hi Ray, in my experience with my Cup, yes at times it does feel very light - possibly due to the very quick steering and softness of its city-car heritage. With the wheels following the road yes very much so, I get this ALOT. If you really boot if coming off a nice roundabout you can feel the...

    Locking and Alarming Cup

    Locking and Alarming Cup

From my experience during these hot days, if you leave the windows open a crack, and then zap it with the alarm immobiliser blipper thing. The alarm on mine goes off within about 30 seconds LOL. So its Windows up at all times until Ive worked out how to lock it without the alarm.

    Locking and Alarming Cup

Might take my Cup to Ireland this summer, but on the ferry documentation I recieved this morning it says, all cars should be locked to protect your valuables but not alarmed. Sounds obvious I know. I was experimenting with the alarm @ work this morning. If the car is fully unclocked, as if id...

    Flashing Lights

If you see another Clio (172, Cup, V6, Valver etc) thats coming the other way, or infront/behind you, do you ever flash your lights to say Hi, or have you ever been flashed?? When I had my Mini I used to flash my lights at other road users and vice versas...... and then other day came across a...

Clio Cup Engine Noise at Fulll Throttle

Oh yeah rev limitter light is on - it happens when the light is on - say after a second or so, and the needle is right up there just about to go into the red - sounds well kewl! Tried it tonight, windows down - sounds healthy. I think i may have a slight dash rattle as well to compliment it...

Clio Cup Engine Noise at Fulll Throttle

Pulsing sqeak could be it - i usually have the window open when I really nail it cos its sounds so nice. 3 months on - I still love the standard induction roar! Im gonna ask my mate whos got one and see if his is the same. Might just pop into Renault and ask about it too. Thanks for the...

Clio Cup Engine Noise at Fulll Throttle

Its not really a rattling, more of a metallic noise on full throttle. Wish I had a way of recording it. Its right at the peak in the rev range its a very strange noise!

Clio Cup Engine Noise at Fulll Throttle

At about 140mph ish in the Cup the shift light comes on in 5th... very amusing. :D Now wheres that V6 gearbox got to.......

Clio Cup Engine Noise at Fulll Throttle

I have to admit as the shift light comes on in my clio @ about 6800-7000 rpm I get a really distinctive rattling sound from the engine. Its not like a clank clank clank style noise, its more of a metallic rattle from the engine - I pressume this is normal as its always sounded like that. What is...

    Sericing on Cup!!!

I know. It totally sucks. Basically they are in the clear cos they have changed the way their warranty works. To you, I and the every day Renault owner you have a 3 year warranty. But with the split between responsibility Renault have got away with it. The car itself in the first year confirms...

    Sericing on Cup!!!

In my warranty agreement it has a line that says any modifications to the car in anway void this agreement. I guess you could always take it off before making a claim but when you go for a service and they see it, it might be an issue!

    Sericing on Cup!!!

Oh I agree entirely Mike. I was quoted the following: Whitehouse Renault in Tonbridge - £240 approx. Whitehouse Renault in Tunbridge Wells - £280 approx. Davis Renault in Sevenoaks - £246 approx. The price is approx because there is no fixed priced servicing for the 172 or Cup 172 according to...

    Sericing on Cup!!!

Im 20 right on my 5th car. On three out of my 5 cars I have owned I have needed to make claims. Now Ive had a Volkswagon, Fiat, Seat and now Renualt and all the dealerships are the same. Ive had minor things go, major things go. It was just a joke. I invalidated it the day I bought it! LOL...

    Sericing on Cup!!!

I was quoted 3 different prices from 3 different dealerships for my 12,000 mile service. According to Renault, my service consists of an Oil change, oil filter, air filter , some other little bits - £250-£300. I was also told I needed to get my air conditioning done too - which is a slight...
