1st inferno I've liked.

Think too many owners have a chip on their shoulders. I've not heard anyone 'trash talk' it's performance or drive. I have heard plenty of criticism (rightfully) of the partially sighted facelift.

Drive then decide tbh. Have to laugh at the plank that suggested doing it as the 182's losing value. Clever.

I really like them, look good in an understated way. I'd imagine the ATR would be more agile and cheaper to run though.

Re: iPhone "must have" apps? Updated copilot. Sorely wish I hadn't! Drove past several speed camera locations today, not a pip. Then for the length of my drive up the m5, kept losing my position completely and insisting I was on roads approx 1mile east of the M5. Unuseable TBH.

Next time you stop for petrol, ask them to grab you something from inside. Drive off. That'll learn them. Hard!

Cooper s is under 16k and mullers the clio's for resale. And is cheaper to service. And more economical. Financially a far better proposition. Fugly though.

I believe a very wise man once said, ahem, "everyone always believes they have the prettiest wife at home". I'm not bashing the 200, merely saying there are a few faults. I'm looking forward to trying one.

I've not yet driven the 200, but the Cooper S is a better car than the 197 in pretty much every way (bar looks) IMO. I'm not against the 200 at all (but I think the 197 was a dissapointment), and a red 200 even looks ok (in an aggressive but ugly way). But there's too many owners on here that...

Have to disagree. Massively. The Mini isn't quite as sharp at the edge, but there's a nat's whisker in it. And the Mini's quicker and more economical to boot.

Rofl at designed for track use. "Yes, keyless entry, cornering lights, cup-holders etc etc are essential for a quick ring time." You pay more for the Golf as it's a bigger car. And vastly higher quality. 3-4 years ago, everyone on here was criticising the CTR for it's narrow power band, now...

What bothers me, is that vw can produce a more powerful engine (mk5 gti) pushing a heavier car, that mullers the 197 for economy. As can mini.

That's because of the Jap MOT scheme iirc.

Which the Vee doesn't have! They are different to drive, the steering and gear shift are very different. Have to be a bit cautious in the wet, but in the dry they are very grippy. I'm not a great fan of how they drive, but as an experience I doubt there's anything that gets close for £15k...
