Which part? The 182 centre section has no gasket, not 100% sure of the downpipe to cat though. You will need a new clamp from cat to sentre section, they are like a use once item.

i'd clean up the rust (wire brush etc) then get some high temp paint, and spray over the joints etc. Thats what i've done with mine, seems ok

Ticking on idle, especially when warm could be the charcoal cannister. Also heard whilst pootling about town. Quick test, rev it to 4k, then bring down the idle. If the ticking goes, then comes back after 30 seconds or so, it'll be this. Not a bit job, part is £45 notes. Brakes sound warped to...

Make sure the pollen filter is changed regular. Can cause problems with steaming up etc. Should be changed every service iirc?
