The dealers dont notice the passenger seat hanging off its runners, or the lack of oil filler cap when theyve changed the oil, let alone be able to use one of them new fangled puter thingies!! :o
I took it easy for the first 625 miles. Its not only the engine that needs a few miles to bed itself in. From then on its had a dam good thrashing at every opportunity.
Mine has only ever had Optimax in it from day 1.
While we are on the subject of oil, Im fast approaching 4k miles, and was considering booking the car in for an oil and filter change now that its run in. Is it worth the time and effort?

I reckon Milanos. What do you think?
I followed my friend in his the other day. We took some nasty lanes to see how we both faired. For one car to loose the other the driver would need a death wish. On the straights the CTR definately has a slight edge, but not a great deal. He reckoned I was keeping up because my ESP was...
Rob, you do have a point. Shame really.
Everyone I know loves my car, but all said Id obviously be a tw*t had a got the CTR!! Funny thing is, I have a friend who owns one and he drives like one most the time. Everyone loves Clios :D
Whats all this red crap, BLUE is the best colour...
Drive them both Ralphy. I did, and personally prefered the Clio. Im not going to go into detail as it always turns into an argument, but the Civic just isnt a fun every day driver. I spend so much time in traffic and rarely get to give the car a good thrashing. The Civic would never have...
Heres the standard Coupe Turbo spec from Vauxhall, so Id expect the 888 to have been tinkered with ;)

Mycrofts posts keep me occupied for hours when Im having a slow day at work.
My last car (company car) was a 2.0 litre Focus Zetec. I tried a couple of tanks of Optimax to see if I could notice a difference. It didnt feel any more powerful, just a little more responsive at low revs. Ive a...
Just another member. Had a thread going about members pictures in Off Topic the other day.
Just an excuse to see what female members look like. ;) Good lad.:D
Its got to be easier than planning all long journeys to take in Shell Stations. Ill have a private space at the ones near me the amount of times I fill up.
I remember reading on Scoobynet about the 101 rated stuff that Mycroft mixes up for his Lexus Soarer!! Apparently its quite a well known...
Ive never used anything other than Optimax from the day I picked the car up. Renault recommend 98 ron for the 172 for the best results, and Ive always made sure I use decent fuel so I figured Id stick with it. As far as I know there are no other fuels with a ron rating that high?
Id heard...
Search the forums for issues with imports.
Mine is an import from Holland. Within two weeks it developed a couple of faults which my local dealer were only too happy to put right. You still get a 3 year warrently. You do need to have an alarm fitted though, as the UK dealers fit these...
For some reason this has really tickled me. Look at the celebs picking up thier new motors.
John Craven, what a legend. http://www.trade-sales.co.uk/info/press.htmlhttp://www.trade-sales.co.uk/info/press.html
I see a lot of CTRs and minis, but recently Ive started to see a lot more 172s. Not surprising as its been most car supermarkets best seller for a while now.
I dont see many Saxo VTS though!!!
Ignore _KDF we all know blue is best ;)

Not heard that about the ECU. Any idea how they differ?
Resale is only lower because the car was cheaper to buy in the first place. No one in their right mind would pay full UK book price knowing the seller got it for less.
Imports have 3 year warranties too. You just have to apply to...
Mine is an import and has locks on both sides.
I dont know if that helps.
I cant think of any other ways to tell. If its come from a Renault dealer then they are bound to have added an alarm (imports dont have them) and replaced the manual with a UK one if it is an import.
Of course...
Ive got thin arms and can just about get at it. I had more trouble getting it back in as I couldnt see the hole!!!! (ooooeeerr misses).
You can get in from the right just dont do it when the engine is hot ;)
