I think that 04 reg 172 belongs/belonged to someone on here. I'd go for the 172 tbh as it's a better colour than that 182 & the 182 doesn't have cup packs on it.

I know what your saying, for some reason it not like that though. If you go to a proper paint shop & give them the code, they are likely to give you a few pieces of card (swatches) with that colour on it, the amount they vary will be madness, you have to take the swtach thing to your car & pick...

No, you get different shades of the colour, plus sunlight etc can fade paint. The chances of it being a 100% match are slim.

The chances are though that even if you get lucky & it is the same red, it might still be a different shade of that colour.
