Big Iain - it is a different car, the one on the ad is a 53 reg, the one in the pic is a 54 reg. Sooo true about the cambelt comment though.

Click on search at the top, type the reg in then press search. It will bring up ever thread with the letters err in it though. To narrow it down you'd want to click on advanced search then spotted (if it has a cs sticker it may have been spotted)

The second one, Contact - mike lusty It made me laugh. Personally i'd not touch it all, the belt etc was dude ages ago, yet it's not been done. Imagine what the rest is like. If your budget it say 4 - 4.5k you will be able to get a mk2 172 with fsh no trouble.

To me it sounds like it would be worth cutting his losses & getting rid. Do you know if the front wings etc are un-touched ??
