If it helps at all I have a photo of when my car came here, it had a missing Oil Flap so you can see what everyone is explaining :)
You can also see that the 4 bolts have been tightened too much on mine to crack the cover so be careful.
Get down to a mechanic's who has a compressor.
There is some way of blowing air through the lines at high pressure to push out any blockages. Think they take the washerjets off and blow it towards the washer fluid tank.
I know the guy we always go to sorted a blockage in Dads car this way -...
I had PIAA blue sidelight bulbs in the dci, they were realy subtle & gave a crisp white xenon-like light
What LED sidelights are best? :)
Looking to get a set for the 172
You dont need components in the back, and you certainly dont need anything on your parcel shelf if you want sound quality too.
For your price range & music taste I would get a good set of pioneer or diamond speakers
Yes, the front speakers are 5.25" /13c, and so are the rear ones :)
What are the best H7 bulb replacements you can get for the full beam in xenon lights?
My xenon headlights are excellent, full beam kind of lets them down with a dull yellowish light :dapprove:
Favourite moments of 2007 are representing the site at the Audio Advice open weekend
& winning my first award for the ICE install. :)

And of course buying my Monaco Blue 172 :approve: - long time comming...
Alpine Type R speakers are very popular and Iwould say they'll keep you happy :)
Put coaxils in the back anyway when you do get that far, you only need components in the front.
OH YES! With some minor little cosmetic changes & properly wired for competing.
To me the standard audio is the only let-down with these little cars, I can't get over how much I like this car compared to most other cars I looked at buying. So when the install makes a return, all will be dandy...
In the Audio-worshiping world an ex-Alpine owner would shoot thyself in thy foot purchasing any Sony audio!
Move up, not down my friend ;)
Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion or Becker shall treat you well if all you want is a HU & decent speakers
