zenons only work dipped beam, main beam is still a standard bulb, granted the road might be brighter near the car with zenons, but its the main beam that sees into the distance, The main beam is the same on every mk2 phase 2, so whats all the fuss about, it can only see the same distance!
just buy some good quality coilovers, (bilstien, leda etc) remember they can run at any height you want, don't all need to be slammed
there will be no difference once properly set up imo
got a problem with me cup, that seems to me, to be ignition based, but see what you guys think. Now, it starts and idles fine and if its revved it seems ok, and you can drive it pretty much normal if your light with the accelerator, however if you put your foot down its very flat and seems to be...
to me the leda set up looks wrong at the back as it uses a straight spring, the normal 'ballon' spring must be like that for a reason...... i've noted when fitting new rear springs that the bottoms that fit on the trailing arm are tapered, the leda ones don't look that from the pics
they are a proper ballache to do though, its a two man job as you can't get at either side of the downpipe from the top, or underneath, (no room at all) you can't hold the nut or bolt when tightening them up.....
its about a 15 min job for two
no need imo, they just rattle, and get in the way, nice motor, looked like mine, get a splitter on it, makes ALOT of difference, and lower it, job done :)
i'd say it'll be fine, remember with coilovers you can set them to any height (people keep forgetting you don't actually have to lower it on coilys), you'll still see an improvement in handling, lower doesnt always = better.
i just got my car back after some accident repair (172 cup) and its...
dunno what all the fuss is about the red strut brace, i have the same one on me cup and i reckon they look mint! Good work, also sits well on the coilovers :approve:
oh and personally i wouldn't bother with an exhaust on a 172, all the back boxes are too big imo, and they never hang right as they place too much strain on the mounts.... you'll be constantly adjusting them, for they very little gains they give, and the money they cost, i'd save up and get...
possibly, when i had a faulty h&r damper (seal split) looking for the part no's i peeled the h&R sticker off the unit and they were badged up as bilsteins underneath.....
reno only i beleive, wont be cheap as a replacement mid section cost me 170.... then you'll also need a clamp to reattach the back box to the existing mid section, about 20 notes i think
