No, it wouldn't. It had been pikey welded into the mk3 and was in a bit of a state underneath.

For 500 most have got bodywork issues to be honest. However, for around a grand you can pic up quite a tidy one. I ran the black one for a few months with no issues. When I got underneath it was like a patch work quilt with all the metal that had been welded in!

Yeah it does but it feels more planted. Id say its improved the handling really.

Agree with the comments re the red s1. They look 10x standard ish.

Just get one with a nice service history. I've had 4 and never had big issues with any of them.

The repair I had was an upgrade to the seven plate clutch. Touch wood, it should be alright now.......
