A load of tosh tbh, if you buy one that's hard a hard life, sure it'll go wrong on you, but buy one that's been cherished & you'll have no problems at all.
I had mine for 18 months & nothing at all went wrong, it was a cracking example. He will get a good one for 5k. The bulid quality on the...
5k will get you a nice Fiat coupe 20v turbo, easlily does 155mph & will hit 60 in 6 secs & to a ton in 14 secs (as standard) tuning them to start off with is quite cheap (a chip can be had for £30) you'll need a few bits to go with it though.
If I wanted something quick for 5k i'd do that...

It would make more sense for him to get it all done while the cars there, I agree.
James - I don't get it, you only just got the car, so does it need all of that ??? If it does why didn't you ask for it to be done before you agreed to buy it ??
:S
So far I did my front ones black too (they are ap four pots) I added the ap decals to them too, yellow decals (so they are the correct colourway)

I quite like the rat look. It's like most styles though really, they either pull it off, or they don't. The rat look to me is more than just having a car that looks knackered.
I think silver calipers & then do the hubs gold, the hubs aren't that noticeable really. Or if you don't like the gold just do them silver.
I think that subtle is the way forward.
Silver in general is a hard colour to match. Are the scratches very deep at all ?? say if your run your fingernail over it will it catch in the scratch ??
Later 1.6's do too (according to a thread I read on here earlier on)
I've also read that it is a mission to go from drums to discs, Giles on here did it & he had no end of problems.
How much was it last year ??
As said, try adding on your mum as a named driver, that often reduces it. Other than that put a slightly higher excess in - watch out though as you'll have their statutory one on it too.
Look at the number inside yuor drivers door & match it up with the paint code list, sorted.
If your getting a bodyshop to do it, you don't need the code at all. Give them the bits & ask them to colour code it for you, they'll match the paint etc.
