The pics are not a Clio2. They are of a Clio3
pretty misleading of K-tec actually.... although it is pretty obvious as well I suppose that its not a Clio2
I broke a driveshaft with a Gripper in my Clio and I lost ALL drive.... I know what should happen in theory. But in practice I had zero drive to the other wheel.
I have a Gripper plated diff in 172cup with ITB's .... would LOVE to tell you how amazing it is, and how it totally changed the cars behaviour on track.
Honestly? I really couldnt tell the difference!! definately not worth the £1k in my experience unless its for a racecar where every tenth of...
still have the Porsche... not got around to selling it! I will almost certainly end up keeping it or swapping up to 997 Turbo Cab or go the other way and get a 997 GT3RS. White with black to match the Lotus and Westy.
you will LOVE the 996 GT3... 993's do nothing for me at all mate. They do...
Got my new Clio back now... and am having exactly the same thoughts. Mine has no roof lining and the interior has all been sprayed black so looks pretty cool and tidy
Been looking at the orteca Carbon doorcards that Ktec sell only this morning and thiking about ditching radio and speakers. But...
Re: 1.2 Track car Conversion
its actually true! my 911 Turbo WILL ping the meters or be JUST under them depending on wind conditions at Bedford.
This is the Lee by the way. I came over and said hello on Saturday at Bedford.
I would imagine I have the quickest car. Its just not a Clio! ;)
If you don't do any of the work yourself you can easily spend £20k on stuff like diffs, ITBs, seats, roll cage, wheels, brakes etc etc!
Labour is also a huge cost.
I had them few months back together with a Gripper plated diff and loads of other stuff like bushes and stuff. Got a £6k plus bill and as soon a I drove the car I thought yes its 'ok' and 'whoops'
because its STILL just a little Clio and its not that much better than when it was all standard...
You can buy a 172cup with Climate control/aircon. Mine has it.
Dan if you are gonna spend that much. Get a Trophy.
Residuals will be far far far better.
they don't weigh alot. They keep it quieter.... but the biggest reason is that they are perfect for keeping 4 wheels and slicks (or wets) securely in the back when on the way to a track day.
What the dimensions of the smaller plate that I see fitted to almost all the other cups out there pls!
Sorry stuck at work and no where near the car to measure it and want to order now.
Thanks
Any major sporting event worldwide... you can pretty much guarantee I am there :)
I do occasionally squeze some work in as well... ;) as all the trackdays and events take some paying for!
Carpets! me.... done the stripped out track car thing to death.
Just makes them horrible to drive on road. For the amount you save... rather just keep it a little refined to make journeys to and from track that much easier!
I even have carpets in my Westfield! lol!
well worth...
Get Mark Fish in Harlow to look over the car and tell you what it needs doing. He will also do the belts for you.
This posts a bit weird actually.... as I wanted a new wheel, buckets and a cage as soon as I bought mine!!
must be the Essex in us!!!!
Mark fish did it all for me. Wheel, Cage...
I live in your town. Pop over and try mine.
Will give you a much better idea of what you wanna do with yours I think.
I've done LOADS to mine in a very short space of time.
Changing the Steering wheel to a sabelt 'Renault Sport' one from a Cupracer was up there with THE best mod...
I always do the full sensation day. Its amazing and stunning value.
if you can only stretch to half day. do the Formula one. Has the best cars including new clio cup racer :)

Re: New to Forum, just put deposit down on 172 Cup, please help with couple of questi
personally rather get the Renault sport wheel. Adds so much to driving experience and feel and is very cheap
Re: New to Forum, just put deposit down on 172 Cup, please help with couple of questi
any pics of melted steering wheels? never seen one? mine was fine before I took it off.
Re: New to Forum, just put deposit down on 172 Cup, please help with couple of questi
Yes, thats Sean. One of my best mates. I've driven that car in all its different guises from when it was bog std and orange upto true nutter spec. Its gonna be even faster now! he just sold the engine and box...
Re: New to Forum, just put deposit down on 172 Cup, please help with couple of questi
Nice clio and v cool Elise!
one word of advice...
DON'T get carried away with modding it!
4 months ago I drove an an already nicely modded 172cup at Bedford to show the owner some lines and give some...
Re: Clio TT (172 cup)
Nope. its running fine!
should be at Silverstone this sunday.
It runs a Pectel T2 ecu mate. Nothing to do with a Ford.
Its 70% MG, 25% Audi, 5% assorted bit as I guess.
It was so fast at an EVO trackday last year that it got a mention in the magazine and that...
