    geo setting and spacers

Interesting, I've got a Cup, was unaware I could stretch to that much camber with just the bolts! Thanks a lot

    geo setting and spacers

Edit: I need to learn to read! Is it just the camber bolts you're using to get the -4 degrees? Or are you using top mounts too?

Cheapest / Best place to buy Cam, Aux, Water pump and dephaser parts?

If you're not planning on fitting the parts yourself, don't buy them separately! Most traders will only fit parts they've supplied themselves.

    RE: Cutting out

Yep, I had this. I had to replace the throttle body in the end, fixed it straight away, no problems since. Although mine was going into limp mode too.

Or if you travel worldwide etc... I just use WhatsApp as it's just like iMessage and only requires a data connection. I'm gonna wait for the S4 Google Edition I think

Well I just couldn't wait any longer!

This is the bolt spacing between the two bolt holes at the bottom of the front suspension strut. 54/60mm @op, great looking car, congrats

Clio track car - which one?

Well, the Ph2 Cup doesn't have ABS, traction control, air con etc. It does have power steering and fly-by-wire throttle though... so it's a bit of a compromise really :-) There are a lot of possibilities, e.g. throttle conversions (or ITB's), power steering removal, ABS removal, air-con removal...

Clio track car - which one?

For me it would have to be the 172 Cup, but I'm pretty biased ;-) Although I am a bit partial to the Ph1 172, but it would potentially require a bit of further modification to get it to 172 Cup "spec" if we can call it that, i.e. air-con removal, ABS removal, etc. Depends what you want from...

    Crashed :(

Kid gets a Clio, pulls out in-front of someone who may or may not have been speeding (largely irrelevant), other guy crashes into him. Lots of debate around liability but thread was started due to the 'illegal' plates he has on the car.

Looks great... mind if I ask where you got the heat shield material from? Thanks

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Excellent - thanks very much! I'm going to go with 20mm spacers for the front and will adjust camber accordingly but for the rears I'm still not too sure. Will definitely go with 15mm, but can't decide on -1 or -2 (in addition to the standard, of course). I suppose that -2.5ish would be a good...

    172 Cup Track/Fast Road car.

Hi Phil What size front spacers did you end up with? You got any pics with the camber? Assuming you're still running ET43? Thanks! Rhys

I've got -1.5 with camber bolts but should be able to push it a bit further

    Coilovers

Cheap doesn't usually come into the same sentence as the word 'good' ;-) I have no idea with regards to a 1.2, but a lot of people use the KTec coilovers as they're meant to be quite cheap

    Road Tyres - For track?

Hi Nick, I use the 595 RSR's, they've been great on the road so far and stood up well on the track. But I'm sure there's a better compromise for more road driving. Cheers Rhys

    rdoxenham's 172 Cup Track Project

Another small update unfortunately, got my fibreglass bonnet re-wrapped in gloss black as it had some random stickers and was in a tatty condition. Really impressed with the work that these guys did (www.monsterwraps.co.uk). Also had them do a sunstrip whilst they were at it! Underneath the...

    172 vs 197

I had a play with a 197/200 (forgive my ignorance, I'm not sure which it was) at Silverstone. My 172 Cup was marginally quicker, hardly anything in it on the straights. My engine with the exception of the exhaust is standard, the other car was too. Mine has been stripped though, not sure how...

Did you use more than one shim per side? I don't see why it would be impossible, but whether or not it's safe is another... would appreciate peoples comments!

    Ipad rant

Yup, the iPad isn't blessed with a lot of memory (and I don't mean 16GB, 32GB or 64GB, that's a whole other form of "memory") and therefore it has a limited amount in which to play with whilst keeping other applications in memory. Therefore *sometimes* it will have to re-load a page, although...
