Hmm. It seems you can hear it more if you open the left window than the right, and seems to be coming from that side, but I thought I'd narrowed it down to something to do with the exhaust, as it went away for a week after I had the clamp done...co-incidence though? It also only does it when...
Sigh, it seems this noise has come back. It did it again about a week after getting the clamp done. Took it back, but there was clearly no movement/gaps whatsoever around that area - it was allegedly done with the genuine Renault kit too. It's the original exhaust however, so is there anything...
Cheap - both their plus point and their biggest downfall.
I was with them fairly issue free for the duration of my contract, but when it came to leave - they wouldn't let me. I rang up at the appropriate time towards the end of my contract to let them know I didn't want to re-new it, and they...
Yeah, my plan really would be to just stick the money into a savings/ISA/whatever and pay it off from that and make the money work for me over those 10 months (as someone mentioned doing earlier in the thread). Just curious really.
Might be a very stupid question, but here goes...
I know you can pay off the remainder of regular Apple Finance whenever you want - however those are usually 24 month or whatever. Because this is a special deal, over only 10 months, can you still pay it off early whenever? I don't see why you...
Talk of multiplayer issues are kind of putting me off this...at the minute i'm deciding betwene picking up this or Uncharted 3 at the weekend. Loved Uncharted 2, one of the best games I've played, but also love the mindless, rollercoaster run and gun of Call of Duty, as well as the multiplayer...
Mine don't really work on auto because the sensor is coming away from the screen slightly. There was a thread where people took them off, smeared ibuprofen gel on them and using that as a clear adhesive to re-stick it, but I'm not sure how long that would last...?
Protecting the leading edge of the bonnet from stone chips. Only really for pristine show cars driving to and from shows - can affect the paint if left on for long periods of time as they can trap moisture etc. under there.
Stupid in my opinion to whack one on for 'looks'. It'd be like wearing...
Final update (hopefully!). The clamp etc. all got replaced with genuine Renault parts, driven home just now from the garage and seems to have fixed it. Obviously a bit of a weak point so if anyone else has this noise, chances are that's what it is!
Cheers for all the help/advice, much appreciated.
Quick update for anyone who may search in the future...
Just been to the garage, and the clamp that attaches the cat to the rest of the system is very rusted and therefore very loose, looks like it could collapse any minute tbh! The knock on the gate thing probably didn't help either. Getting...
Personally I do it myself, make a note in the book and keep receipts. Unless it's a new/prestige car I'm not sure stamps are worth the extra over just doing it yourself (unless something major like belts etc).
When I'm late, I often tend to rallycross my way through the local park as a shortcut. However, since the incident involving a sunbather, their rather large fun bags and the subsequent removal of my front splinter, I don't tend to travel this way anymore. Therefore the chances of a small child...
Maybe my mad skillz in the twisties are getting her excited, who knows. It is an rdotsdot clio after all. However, I'm fairly familiar with the sound of my missus screaming, being the stud I am - no help required from an internet forum on that front...cheers though.
Right, that's this threads...
Yes mate, that's the one. That part of the system does seem to be one of the lowest points under the car, so it's possible it caught on that, although damage isn't obvious, but as I said I don't have a ramp...how likely is it for any exhaust damage to only be noticeable under load? Doesn't do it...
Gregor, I saw the thread, but I think it was 4 years or so ago and couldn't get the sound file to work to see if it was the same thing...sounded very similar though. There was also no definite conclusion as to what it really is...I'm thinking perhaps exhaust based though, especially after...
Yeah I did this earlier! Unlocked it and pretty much straight away opened the door...then all hell broke loose as the alarm went off! Also seems sensitive to if I get out and lock it too soon after closing the door too...gives me some warning beeps.
OK, so last night I noticed a weird noise under acceleration, so today decided to try and capture it on video and see if anyone could shed any light on it? I appreciate it's not the best video as it's off my iPhone, but I'm hoping it can help in some way!
At first I thought it might be the...
I phoned up RCI (Renault finance) and confirmed the finance situation without being the owner, assume you can do the same. Mine had outstanding finance listed even though it'd been paid off, was just an admin error in not closing the account. Easy enough to check.
This. I did a mytextcheck type one and it was fine...then realised it didn't show finance so swiftly did a proper HPI and it showed outstanding finance! Turned out that the account just hadnt been closed, but still, it proves that 25 quid in the scheme of things is nothing!
Coming up to the mini-roundabout by Topps Tiles/Simply Gym and Bookers there was a silver V6 turning right, about half 12 ish? Not sure if they'd be on here but as they're fairly rare thought it was worth a shout!
iMessages are coming through fine on my iPhone, but they're not showing up on my iPad? Even though the contacts show up as being iMessage enabled if I want to send them a message from my iPad? Thought the idea was that the conversations showed up on all iOS5 devices? iMessages is turned on in...
I think they're pretty competitive. I'm an O2 customer at the minute so very tempted by upgrading onto a 12 month contract with a 4S...original plan was if I did upgrade then get the phone SIM free and go Simplicity, but will have to do some maths now I've seen these tariffs...
When I was test driving a 182 before I bought the one I've got, at a Renault dealer, the bloke told me the squealing noise that happened when I put the AC on and put my foot down was 'a characteristic of these engines, and perfectly normal'. To be fair it probably is a characteristic of most 182...
