Why is the 172 superior?? I don't see that it is definitively better. Still reckon the mk1 is more driver focused. The 172 is better if your gonna be covering miles and miles, but then why would you choose a clio for that? all this coming from the man who just gave up his valver for a 172! lol

Rear arches are a massive bonus. If the car is for fun then a MK1 is better than a 172. The engine may not need to be reconditioned and even so the most cost effective way of doinf that would be to wait on ebay/CS for a cheap low miler and dump it in. Go for the Mk1. I'd value it at 1200-1300 at...
