Little update from over Christmas, managed to spend a day on the cup, had a list of bit's to get done
- Reattached the splitter after my wife decided part of it shouldn't be where it was supposed to be 😂
- Tweaked the damping on the coilovers, went 15 clicks on the front and 10 on...
No pics unfortunately but reattached the splitter yesterday after my wife decided part of it shouldn't be where it was supposed to be 😂 tweaked the damping on the coilovers, wet & dry sanded the headlights, attached heat shield in the engine bay, resealed the plastic grommets next to...
Had the bias valve/compensator replaced on mine along with all the rear brake lines etc. mine was also properly corroded and doing nothing, car was off the road at the time so made sense to do all the work together. Doesn't help as the rear brakes aren't doing a lot anyway even with a fully...
I don't know you @SharkyUK but have been following this thread along with everyone else and looking forward to seeing the car being used as it's supposed to be and as hard as it would be to do the above this is what I would be doing, I know how hard that would be but sometimes you have to know...
Not too bad  half a tank of fuel, bit of a bumpy ride, just enough noise from the exhaust and the slight rattle from the PMS shifter 😂 not naturally what the cup is meant for but it does it well really considering car full of people and luggage. Was bad here this morning people...
Sounds good, that's why I asked as I thought it would open up centre exit etc. with the flat boot floor and the shortened bumper, look forward to seeing it
Realise I deleted my double post and my post has now gone  cut away bumper looks great, can't wait to see it finished as I am sure you can't, what exhaust are you going to run? Don't know whether I have missed in previously
I wanted to try a silenced centre as mine was unsilenced which wasn't helping but I never managed to find one second hand, making one up would work though, could the exhaust place that did the back box for you help?
I would recommend the PMS to anyone, it's a great exhaust and fit's perfectly, if you can get over the cost of them  they don't seem to come up that often 2nd hand either. Are you on the 172 manifold still? It did make quite a difference on the PMS with the 182 manifold, I was surprised
I ditched my KTEC on my original Ph1 as it was terrible on the motorway, the drone gave me a headache 😂 I would say on my cup I have a 182 manifold with decat and silenced PMS exhaust and the 182 manifold made it considerably louder, it doesn't drone and is still quieter than the KTEC...
Question for anyone who has Spax RSX coilovers, what do you have the damping set for road and track use? I have them on my cup but don't seem to be able to get the setup just right so thought I would ask I know it's a personal preference kind of thing but would be interested to see what kind of...
172 Cup
Bought a Ph1 airbox for the cup a month or so ago and didn't fit it then saw the Renault 21 Turbo airbox on eBay and thought I could make a V6/Espace style airbox with a bit of both of them plus an ITG foam filter that came with the Ph1 when I bought it  missed out on the 21 box...
Hope so, the plan is to keep it for the long term, I do think they will go up in value but it doesn't matter if it doesn't just wanted another Ph1
The photos came out well considering they are off a phone  I love the interior it will stay exactly as it is including tape deck, I might do something with the steering wheel but would be an OEM steering wheel re-trimmed nothing aftermarket
Not posted in here for a while and grabbed some pics earlier of the Ph1, was dirty but was out for a drive, first time it's been out for a couple of weeks, I washed it before it went back in the garage
Update on the Ph1, it's been in the garage for the last couple of weeks and have been meaning to get it out for a drive and a wash, it's been a few weeks. Took some pics while I was out, it was filthy for the pics
Washed it before I put it back in the garage and grabbed a quick...
Struggled to find pics with Williams wheels on a cup or Ph2 but just fancied a change, nearly went with a grey/anthracite but silver was my first idea so stuck with it
