Yep, but they're not likely to do big miles on the motor are they they're mainly interested in performance. If it was something you're planning on rebuilding again for the foreseeable then I'd not be thrashing the tits off of it straight away myself...

It's generally accepted that you shouldn't baby an engine when rebuilt. But don't red line it everywhere either.

/\ what he said. But don't labour the engine, use the gears/engine braking, don't sit at constant revs, don't be afraid to use some of the rev range but make sure the oil is up before doing so.
