As above, ph1 172 has much larger exhaust ports. Also think pulley setup is slightly different.

    Just bought...

I saw the price and actually said 'ouch' out loud as it looked a lot for a 172 cup, but tbh having read the advert and how recent belts etc were all done, I dont think you got a bad deal at all.

    Growing Out Of The Clio?

I had the 197 for 2.5 years, thats the longest I have ever kept a car. When I sold it I expected to miss it a lot, but it wasnt the kind of car we needed anymore and tbh had got a bit much when doing the weekly shop etc. The cup suspension was just too crashy and I never really got chance to...

best way of insuring 2 cars?

You could put one on classic car insurance? Try www.peterbest.co.uk Or Brentacre will mirror your ncb. They have for me and saved me £800 on my insurance for the second car. You need to insure both cars through them though.

172 mpg down just checking if my plan of action is right

Iirc recommnended replacement is Bosch. I'd be swapping post and pre cat lambda round first though to if it cures it. If it does jobs a good un, if not the problems elsewhere.

Tbh my first Clio was louder than a yozza and My garage is pretty anal but still passed it. Just told mr it's a bit loud and be careful around the fuzz.

    Yozza and mot

Technically it is illegal to modify an exhaust system to be louder than standard, so any aftermarket exhaust should fail.
