Yoz blew it up, first thoughts were the headgasket. It was going really well, untill we were flying down the main straight, all of a sudden big rattle, lots of noise, then the engine cuts out. Lots of steam from the exhaust - engine dead.

32 here. Times like these im glad i ticked the CC box.

There are many views on this. Basically vary the revs and the load on the engine. Im still not fully converted to the "give it death off the forecourt" way of thinking, but i wouldnt keep the car at low revs for the first 700 miles either.

Unlucky mate, however at least you have witnesses and the guy has omitted fault, it should get sorted for you fairly quickly, fingers crossed.
