As per thread title, fi you had need to replace a shock absorber, would you buy a pair fo shocks for £200 or a set of new coilovers with 3 year warranty for the same price?
Potentially looking into getting a Paintless dent removal guy to this, need to know if there will be enough interest to make it worth while first though?
Sounds like you've wasted a lot of time speaking to the wrong people, and they have wasted your time by not first asking you what your budget is? A price difference of £1500 is silly when you are just asking 'what mods should I do'.
Give us a total budget, a list of improvements and priorties...
I managed about 8k on on T1Rs on the front iirc. Did about 11k with conti 3s on the front. Contis lasted 18/19k on the rear. Hankooks still looked new after nearly 5k on the front.
Actually, having an exhuast louder than standard is illegal.
Problem with enforcing that law is prooving it. You will see on the V5 of newer cars that there are sound level readings for standard cars. Though the stationary rating of my 197 at 5500rpm was 89dB
TBH insurance is a joke all round! I can insure a Noble for less than I am paying on the new car which is far heavier and less powerfull. S2000 is over 2k for me, even without adding MrsDuck. For comparison, the 197 in my name alone was under £600!
