First 182... Cambelt gone within the hour

9 years, good effort! The Gates kit has metal pulleys I think for that very reason.

    ABS sensors, talk to me...

    What would you do?

Yeah the 250 cold side of the turbo is a popular mod.
  5. Mr Trailer Man

    What would you do?

Maybe with 225/R26 engines, but not 250 engines.
  6. Mr Trailer Man

    What would you do?

Not many, i've only heard of 2 or 3.

    @PhillipM

    What would you do?

    Getting on for £7-10k for a 250'd Clio 200.
  9. Mr Trailer Man

    What would you do?

    Try a 250 engine in a 172 lol, like Craig's on here
  10. Mr Trailer Man

    What would you do?

The ones i've seen have been reliable. The 250 engine is far superior to the previous. Shame they didn't carry on development of it with the new Mk4 Megane.

Help - CV joint just locked up after fitting ARB drop link

ARB drop link, what car is this? 197/200?
  12. Mr Trailer Man

    What would you do?

Save the £5k and spend it on something else. The Mk2 Megane isn't that much of an upgrade in the grand scheme and they're certainly no quicker unless you start messing with them.

    £340 for a glorified wire wheel ?

    RS200T EDC - Brembo Conversion

Yeah 340mm discs on the MK3 Megane.
  15. Mr Trailer Man

    RS200T EDC - Brembo Conversion

I wonder if the Megane 250 calipers would fit on these ?

    Changing AUX belt

Why not get your cambelt done at the same time by a reputable garage.

    Fitting 197 Brembos onto a 182

Yeah. If running 16" wheels and a certain size disc, no machining is needed.
  18. Mr Trailer Man

    Filler flap rust fix

Any mk2 panel should fit i'd imagine. Basically the same shell.

    Track Day - PAS failure

Ahh right, maybe i've got my price breakdown wrong. Still a few £££ to get it done by someone though.

    Track Day - PAS failure

That a brand new pump or 2nd hand? New ones were close to £200 new on their own, although i think they're NLA.
  22. Mr Trailer Man

    Track Day - PAS failure

Mine was £400 ish at a specialist for a brand new pump, pulley and aux belt kit inc labour.
  23. Mr Trailer Man

    Track Day - PAS failure

I just heard a pop noise earlier in the lap and didn't think anything of it, then it started going heavy-normal-heavy so i came in and saw that it had blew the seal out behind the pulley. RE tyres, when you come in from a session check the pressures before you go back out. Set them a bit lower...

    Half cage options

Get Shaun to fit it for you, you know it's right then. Can pay on card at SW i'm sure.
  25. Mr Trailer Man

    Half cage options

Actually, his was a 6 point cage so should be cheaper.
  26. Mr Trailer Man

    Half cage options

I'm just guessing, so you'd have to ask a few places. But i'm sure a mate had his Clio ones welded in and that was around £100.

    Fitting 197 Brembos onto a 182

No you'll need lines which have the banjo fittings on the end. Like this
  28. Mr Trailer Man

    Half cage options

God knows, probably £70-£170 would be reasonable.

    Track Day - PAS failure

My pump went on track last year too. Near impossible to steer when it goes. It is quite common on these to suffer PAS failures with track use, fluid usually boils.
  30. Mr Trailer Man

Stud and nut conversion, standard wheels.

It does make it easier, but i do quite a few track days and still use regular bolts.
