And here's 3 wires on the starter motor no? 2 bolt on one little push on.. I also when I went to check the starter motor (stupidly) forgot to remove battery so removed the white wire and lots of sparks... But that was after the car didn't start. ...

Willo40 yeah goes in every gear except 2nd, but yah reverse crunches most of the time! Yeah thats what I was thinking, weird though how i was just sitting in 5th, then couldn't get it in 2nd when I came off at the junction.

So just came off the motorway, went to put it into 2nd and It woupdnt go in (if youll pardon the pun) it felt like a spring was pushing it away, and there was no 'notch' to go in? Any help will be appreciated!
