I am getting a Very loud metallic sound from the car at about 4k Up.
Happens under Acceleration also in neutral if you just rev the car up and on Run Down.
Sounds like a Washer is loose and resonating but much louder.
I am not sure, but I *Think* its coming from where the Exhaust joins the...
Out of Interest, the Shims are i presume in the carrier to allow them to run smoothly, when the shim is removed is the caliper where its case not rough causing the pads to stick?
Ah so thats where I went wrong i think!
i thought they were needed to hold the pads in... i will rip them off at the weekend and see who i go without them in! i presume there is a top and bottom one on each carrier?

Ah I see, Did not grease them up... Will do that.
As for the Shims I presume that these are the Thin metal "brackets" that i think are made of Copper or something that sit at the top and bottom of the carrier?

Pads / Discs were bedded in...

As for the group buy yes there is one and your...

Not sure if this is "normal" as I am loading the front of the car up and the rears dont do much (And are low on pad material, will be replacing new...
8 Months to settle a claim, on a non fault accident with EVERYTHING fully declared :dead: (And TBH Its still not fully sorted now)
Not my car but a mates (Stunty on here) Not someone I fancy dealing with.
People who drive 172 cups are Heros IIRC ;)
Having driven a 172 Cup and a 182FF (With Cup packs) I personally prefered the 172 cup as it felt more raw.
But its horses for courses really, drive both and make your mind up.
Fitted my new Brembo HC & DS2500 pads to the front of the car over the weekend.
The stopping power after bedding the brakes in by doing 20 cycles of 60 - 10mph braking is immence (And leaves a nice Smoke cloud coming from the front wheels :))
The discs were a nightmare to get off and after...
