Yes! Personally I'd buy a high mileage example with FSH. My old 182 is approaching 100k, along with many others on here, and still going strong. £3K would have given you lots of change from the sale of mine. Again, given the choice, I'd go for a ph2 172 if you want the toys - Better exhaust...

They carry speed very well. Also not "underpowered" so to speak, simply not as fast. I think if I had the NA I would probably crave more power fairly quickly.
