i didn't have any copper grease and asked here if it was essential i go and buy some, the consensus was that is wasn't

think i sorted the tension clip, in that picture i hadn't compressed the piston against the pad yet so there was still a bit of room. should be okay now but ill look tomorrow cheers for pointing it out
Ah i called it the retaining plate ? well it was on the top when i took them out and its also at the top in the haynes book so should be okay:)

Though I have not put any copper grease on the backing of the new pads, is it essential that I do? Should I go buy some ?

I had a look at the main ignition fuses to see whats going on but can't really tell anything , my car is down a narrow drive bonnet facing away so no chance of jump leads, might have to buy a power pack
